Finding Pulled Lamb Tacos


City Tacos is bringing back its Pulled Lamb Taco after a more than two-year hiatus from the menu. It was one of Gerry Torres’s original four tacos when he opened the Mexican eatery in 2014. The taco, which is the taco of the month for October, has pulled lamb with wild mushrooms and topped with onion, tomato, cilantro, chipotle aioli, and fried leeks with a cotija cheese sprinkle on a house-made corn tortilla. 

In July, City Tacos began opening its Encinitas location for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Within that earlier window, however, more people have been coming in looking for the regular menu. Who doesn’t love a Scallop Dream Taco at those early hours, I guess? Thus, the full menu will now be available at 9:30 a.m. on weekends beginning this weekend. Two breakfast items will still be featured: Beachbreak Burrito and Beach Side Chilaquiles Verdes. To celebrate, City Tacos is introducing the Pipes Surf Break-fast Combo for $10.10 – in homage to Highway 101 – that is available during breakfast hours only. The combo includes any two tacos and a Mexican beer, or the Beachbreak Burrito and a Mexican beer.
