New Year Celebrations

Ring in 2023 at Al Dente, San Diego’s hottest new Italian restaurant, featuring hand-made pastas and hearty meat dishes from the team that brought you Zama and Rusticucina.On Dec. 31, Al Dente will be offering diners a prix fixe menu for $40 per person. Guests will have the choice of appetizer (Caesar salad,  Zuppa Contadina or Arancini), main course (Salmone, Cavatelli Cinghiale, Fettucine Pistacchio or the Filet Mignon for $10 more) and dessert (Limoncello or Tiramisu). A complimentary glass of Prosecco will be offered to each guest. Located in the trend-forward community of University Heights, Al Dente opened in mid-December. They specialize in offering traditional Italian recipes with a modern twist. Al Dente will be open on New Year’s Eve from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Grab your silk robes and your diamonds! barleymash is hosting a ‘Jammies and Jewels’ New Year’s Eve Party! The first 100 guests to arrive will receive a silk robe, and anyone enjoying bottle service on the night of will receive the full ‘Jammies and Jewels’ treatment. Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters, the sister restaurant to Trey Foshee’s Georges at the Cove, is open for New Year’s Day brunch from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and you can enjoy a free dozen oysters with the purchase of a bottle of champagne. The menu from Executive Chef Marty Fay, a protégé of renown San Diego chef Christine Rivera, features a Prime Rib California Burrito (fries, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, pico de gallo), Skillet Corn Cake (ham, swiss, fried egg), Wood Fired Pork Loin Benedict (house-baked English muffin, crispy rosemary potatoes, poached egg), and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (whipped cream). 

Partners Quiero Restuarants and Mike Hess Brewing are hosting their 6th-Annual Hair of the Hog all-you-can-eat-and-drink brunch celebration on New Year’s Day from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at both Seaport Village and Imperial Beach locations. It’s $50.00 for adults and the menu includes build-you-own omelets, caramelized banana pancakes, Mike Hess fish tacos, Ahuevo breakfast tacos, vegetarian green chilaquiles, bacon, sausage, potatoes, all draft beers, mimosas, MIKEaladas, select wine, and sodas. Kids 12 and under can enjoy the all-you-can-eat brunch with sodas for $20.00.
