New Lunch Service at Sandpiper

Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters, the casual Georges at the Cove sister restaurant in La Jolla Shores, is starting dine-in and take-out lunch service on Thursday, March 2nd. Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday (Sundays are for brunch only), and the menu will feature exclusively sandwiches and salads from Executive Chef Marty Fay. 

Sandwich offerings include Crispy Chicken (Szechuan aioli, pickles), Tofu Bahn Mi (chicken liver mousse, pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro mayo, jalapeno), Shrimp Po Boy (Lettuce, Tomato, Remoulade), Salmon Burger (lettuce, tartar sauce, pickled red onion), and the Classic Smash Burger that is a mainstay on the dinner menu. 

Salads include Classic Caesar Salad (crisp romaine, croutons, anchovy), Endive & Arugula (Pear, Gorgonzola, candied walnuts, ember-roasted shallot vinaigrette), and Grain Bowl (Farro, cucumbers, cherry tomato, pickled red onions, Herbs, ember roasted shallot vin). 

Happy hour and dinner service remains unchanged, both beginning at 4:00 p.m. General Manager and resident Advanced Sommelier Evan Vallee says guests have been asking for lunch service, and thus the addition. 

Sandpiper is currently on Eater San Diego’s The Hottest Restaurants in San Diego, February 2023 list. It’s also currently on Thrillist San Diego’s Everywhere You Need to Eat in San Diego Right Now list. 

Sandpiper is located at 2259 Avenida De La Playa, a mere six-minute walk from the beach.
