The beloved local coffee and bagel shop invites you to add a splash of color (and flavor) to your life by indulging in their June specialty Ube Pandesal Bagel with Ube Cream Cheese. The bagel is a unique take on the ever-popular Filipino sweet! Both the vibrant appearance and the melt-in-your-mouth texture make it an unforgettable experience. The natural sweetness of the ube, with a rich taste similar to vanilla and white chocolate, contrasts perfectly against the saltiness of the cream cheese, creating a delectable flavor you’re sure to savor.
Ube is a purple yam, indigenous to Asia, specifically grown in the Philippines, with a flavor best described as slightly nutty with a hint of chestnut. Pandesal, or Filipino bread rolls dusted with breadcrumbs, translates directly to salt bread, however it is actually relatively sweet. The breakfast bread of choice in the Philippines, the bread is traditionally enjoyed with eggs in the morning.
Pair the new Ube Pandesal Bagel with your favorite coffee from Spill the Beans, hot chocolate, or Chagaccino, and start your summer mornings off the right way!
Spill the Beans has two locations - in the Gaslamp at 555 Market Street, 92101 and in Seaport Village at 813 W Harbor Dr Unit C, 92101.
