Two weeks marks the unofficial start to summer – Memorial Day – in San Diego, and here are some restaurants, bars, and breweries celebrating by offering military appreciation deals, specials, and happenings for all to enjoy!

Pacific Beach is the perfect spot to spend Memorial Weekend, and Duck Dive, typically closed on Mondays, will be open to celebrate Memorial Day with bottomless mimosas. Available until 2:00 p.m., guests can partake in bottomless mimosas for $17.50 a person, a deal which requires a corresponding entrĂ©e order. Active and inactive veterans will enjoy 15% off their tab with valid ID! 

Alejandra’s Fine Mexican Food and Cantina recently opened in Carlsbad, bringing the area a new taste of authentic Mexican cuisine. From Friday, May 26th to Sunday, May 28th active and inactive military will receive 10% off their tab, with valid identification. Alejandra’s will be closed in observance of Memorial Day that Monday. Fan-favorite dishes include Oysters Oaxacafeller, Chile Relleno, and Huarache de Birria. 

At Novo Brazil Brewing Company’s Lane Avenue taproom, veterans and active-duty military can enjoy $2 off pints both Sunday, May 28th and Monday, May 29th. Sip on lagers, pilsners, and IPAs from the award-winning brewery while watching the NBA playoffs on the 15-foot LED screen outside on the patio. The taproom opens at 12:00 noon both days.

On Memorial Day, Arely's French Bakery will offer 15% off orders to military personnel, police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and federal law enforcement agents. Ask your cashier prior to payment and be prepared to show a badge if not in uniform! Those who don't qualify for a discount can still honor the holiday with delectable decorative cookies. 

barleymash, Gaslamp’s downtown hotspot for good food and good drinks all day and night long, will feature a few drink specials from Saturday, May 27th to Monday, May 29th in honor of Memorial Day. The Pretty Bird features Grey Goose, butterfly pea flower, lemon, and sparkling water. The Get Flocked Up includes Grey Goose Strawberry & Lemongrass Essence, fresh strawberry, lime, and basil. Wing It with Grey Goose, watermelon, lime and ginger beer! Guests can also chow down on the Shorty Dog, beef sausage topped with arugula, caramelized onions, short rib, three cheese, and jalapeno, or the Champ Dog – a pork brat with ale braised pork, pepperjack beer cheese, BBQ ranch, and tobacco onions. barleymash will feature giveaways all weekend long, a Sunday night performance from DJ Autumn Leilani, as well as karaoke downstairs, in ginger’s.  

Mavericks Beach Club is well-known and beloved for their year-round beach parties. Memorial Day Weekend is no exception, with brunch available Saturday through Monday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring $20 bottles of champagne and rose. Listen to the beats of live DJs Friday from 3:30 p.m. to close, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to close.

Tacaliente brings some of the best Mexican bites to University Avenue, the perfect spot to stop at after a late night. This Memorial Day, guests can enjoy $5 elote, 3 for $5 fish tacos, and $5 beers. This Hillcrest hotspot prioritizes using the freshest ingredients, bringing guests genuinely high-quality menu options!

Louisiana Purchase, which brings a taste of New Orleans to North Park, will celebrate Memorial Day all weekend long. On Friday, from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., stop in for Supper Club and enjoy late night bites and sips. Saturday from Noon to 3:00 p.m. will feature brunch and beats, and on Sunday, enjoy live entertainment!

Park 101, the backyard BBQ of your dreams, will be open all weekend – perfect for enjoying some drinks by the beach and freshly–made barbecue bites. Get cozy in the 8,000 square foot venue and soak in some sunshine while sipping your favorite drafts and handmade cocktails like the Watermelon Mule and Frozen Coconut Margaritas.  

Cococabana Rooftop Bar brings Caribbean vibes to North County atop The Brick Hotel. On Saturday and Sunday, stop in for bottomless mimosas from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Monday, enjoy your favorite cocktails and bites from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  

Coco Maya will open early from Friday to Monday, allowing guests access to their mouthwatering brunch at 9:00 a.m. Enjoy fan-favorite dishes like the Boriqua Bowl, Coconut Shrimp, Bacon Benny, and Jerk Chicken Gnocchi. Pair the rooftop sunshine with Coco Maya classic cocktails like the Caribe Welcome with house rum blend, apricot brandy, lime, fresh coconut water, and coconut cream served in a fresh coconut.  

Miss B’s Coconut Club is a great spot in Mission Beach for spending Memorial Day Weekend by the beach. Brunch is served until 2:00 p.m., bringing classic Miss B’s favorites like Acai Granola Bowls, Coconut Rum French Toast, and Lechon Asado Hash. For dinner, devour Plantain Coconut Shrimp, Jerk Chicken Wraps, and Jerk Rubbed Chicken Wings. What’s a long weekend without a giant cocktail?
