Both restaurants are in Carlsbad, with Giaola in Bressi Ranch and Alejandra’s on El Camino Real less than a mile north of Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. Giaola features open-air indoor seating, as well as covered patio dining. Alejandra’s also offers a covered patio.
Children 12 and under can enjoy a complimentary meal with the purchase of an accompanying adult entrée. Giaola’s kids menu includes spaghetti & meatballs, pizza (cheese or pepperoni), and chicken tenders & fries, while Alejandra’s includes cheese quesadilla, chicken tenders, and grilled flat-iron steak – each served with a choice of fries or rice & beans.
Favorite adult entrées at Giaola include Jidori Chicken Piccata (fettucine, broccolini, pecorino, garlic lemon butter caper sauce) and Herb Crusted Shrimp (Taranto risotto, crispy, prosciutto, English peas, mascarpone, herb oil, oven-roasted tomatoes).
Alejandra’s adult entrées include Camarones a la Diabla (pan-roasted shrimp, pineapple tamale, pineapple-ginger salsa, refried beans, ancho salsa) and Pollo en Brasas (fire-roasted chicken, pickled vegetables, avocado-lime sauce).
Parents can also take advantage of Giaola’s summertime happy hour called “Spritz Hour” on Mondays until 6:00 p.m. Four spritzes from longtime locals-favorite bartender Brice Kupstaitis are available for $10: Classico (Aperol, prosecco, soda, orange wheel), Gateway (Aperol, prosecco, gin, soda, watermelon, basil), Melrose (Aperol, prosecco, lavender, soda, edible flower), and The Med (limoncello, prosecco, soda, lemon wheel). Other drink specials are $6 draft beers, $7 select wines, and $2 off craft cocktails.
