The journey began in August of 2020 when Jeff Oliveri, a passionate chef and entrepreneur, envisioned a place for the Hillcrest community to call home. His restaurant, aptly named Tavola Nostra, which translates to "our table," was born amidst the chaos of the pandemic. COVID stole his grand opening, but Jeff never lost sight of his dream.
Two years later, this hidden gem was named one of Yelp’s 50 best restaurants. Tavola Nostra became synonymous with quality, known for their Pinsa and Sicilian Pepperoni Pizza, made with ingredients sourced directly from Italy. Jeff's brother, the talented Su chef, contributes to the perfection that finds its way to every plate.
Stepping into Tavola Nostra is like stepping into a family home. The walls are adorned with family photos, telling a story of heritage and passion. A plaque over a particular booth honors Jeff’s 96-year-old grandmother, marking her favorite spot when she visits.
Tavola Nostra’s menu is rich in tradition and taste, from their sumptuously garnished pepperoni pizzas loaded with crispy Sicilian pepperonis to their house made tiramisu and charcuterie boards. Their commitment to authenticity doesn’t stop at the recipes – the flour and other essential ingredients are imported directly from Italy.
