Q&A Restaurant and Oyster Bar, situated on the ground floor of Oceanside's boutique The Brick Hotel, proudly marks its first anniversary. Over the past year, it has rapidly emerged as a premier destination for oyster aficionados, lovers of Louisiana-style cuisine, and cocktail enthusiasts who appreciate the art of mixing.

In a milestone move since its inauguration, Beverage Director Rob McShea has undertaken a significant overhaul of the cocktail menu to capture the essence of fall and harmonize with the restaurant's meticulously crafted food offerings, curated by the esteemed Chef Quinnton Austin, affectionately known as "Chef Q" in San Diego.

The latest additions to the North County's beverage landscape include:

  • Q’s Seven Five: A delightful blend of cognac, lemon, pistachio, bubbles, lemon zest, and meringue.
  • Harvest Mule: A seasonal concoction featuring vodka, apple cider, lime, cinnamon, and apple pie spice.
  • Pumpkin Spiced Espresso Martini: A tempting fusion of pumpkin spice-infused vodka, Mr. Black Espresso Liquor, cold brew, and house-made pumpkin spiced mousse.
  • Kiwi Gin Sour: A refreshing creation with kiwi-infused gin, lime, and a touch of orange bitters evanescence.
  • Pimmp’s Cup: A unique combination of Plata tequila, Pimm's, lemon, strawberry, ginger, and a delicate cucumber ribbon.
  • Pier View Daiquiri: Crafted with a house rum blend and complemented by banana liqueur and zesty lime.
  • Autumn Spritz: A sparkling medley of apple cider and red apple-infused liquor, topped off with prosecco.
  • S'mores Old Fashioned: A tantalizing blend of marshmallow-infused bourbon, cacao liquor, cocoa bitters, and a dramatic table-side presentation.

For food connoisseurs and cocktail aficionados, the options are equally enticing. Whether you choose to bask in the back patio's ambiance adorned with succulents from Succulent Coffee, perch at the stylish bar, or nestle into a cozy booth, be prepared to embark on a sensory journey that promises to captivate your taste buds.

Rob McShea shares, "This revamped menu reinvents classic cocktails like the mule, old fashioned, and espresso martini with spirited, autumnal twists. My personal favorites include the Harvest Mule, the smoky S'mores Old Fashioned, and the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini. These cocktails are thoughtfully designed to complement a selection of small bar bites from the menu, creating a harmonious culinary experience."

Among the food menu highlights at Q&A are the Charbroiled Oysters seasoned with Cajun spice, garlic lemon butter, and parmesan, the hearty Gumbo featuring chicken and sausage, and the delectable Fried Chicken drizzled with chili honey during the happy hour.
